Hi friends! Happy Monday! I’m going to share a little bit about ME today; why I do what I do and how I got here. I don’t think I have ever really shared this to you all so today is the day.
Every time I was with my friends or hanging out with my sister, it turned into a photo session. I took classes in high school. I really enjoyed learning more about the camera and even developing in a dark room. But I thought that photography was always going to be just a hobby.
When I was little, I would say that I wanted to be a marine biologist to work with dolphins (my favorite animal) and whales. This was my dream ever since falling in love with Free Willy at the age of 2. But honestly, I just wanted to be able to swim with them – science isn’t my strong suit. During high school, I decided I wanted to help kids like my brother, who has autism. This lead me to speech/language pathology. I went to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and graduated with my Bachelor’s of Science in communication science and disorders with a minor in American Sign Language. But when I got rejected to every graduate school that I applied to, I had a quarter life crisis. I felt lost and had no idea what I was going to do for the rest of my life.
He also knew that my dream was to someday raise our kids and stay home. Thanks to his belief in me and support, I started Racine Photography in 2014.
Here I am in 2020 with 51 weddings under my belt. I have gained lots of wonderful clients turned into friends and huge growth. And the best part is I’m living the dream of raising our son while being able to work a job I love. It really doesn’t get better than that.
Do you love the career you’re in? How did you get there?
