When I first sat down to write this blog, I thought it’d be so easy to come up with five things but it wasn’t that easy. I’m excited to share some things that make me ME.
- At 9 months old, I went to a hot air balloon festival in a near by town. I wasn’t afraid of the “dragon-breathing” noise like everyone thought I’d be. Ever since then I have been known as the Balloon Baby. I went to the balloon rally 24 years straight and only missed two when I had two weddings out of state. I’m obsessed with hot air balloons and am so excited to bring Bradyn to the hot air balloon rally this August. Knowing my obsession, Marc planned our proposal perfectly, asking me to marry him in a hot air balloon.
- Speaking of Marc – we love getting asked “How did you two meet?” because we have such a unique story. My dad has a mini farm (couple cows, chickens, pigs) and in the summer of 2008 we had piglets. My dad and Marc’s mom grew up together so she heard that we had piglets. Claire and Marc came to see the pigs while I was outside. I saw him, thinking “He is cute! I need to go pretend to like pigs.” We didn’t speak to each other that day but we both thought the other person was cute. He messaged me on facebook February 2009 and the rest is history. We always answer the “how did you meet?” question with “in a pig pen”.
- I am a 5th generation entrepreneur on one side and a 4th generation entrepreneur on the other side of the family. It’s really all I knew since I grew up watching my great-grandparents, grandparents, and both my parents owning and running their own businesses. I loved the thought of being my own boss and the flexibility of time.
- Which leads me to how I’ve always wanted to be a work at home mom. My mom owned a medical transcription business and worked out of the house. She always worked in the cracks of time around raising my siblings and I. She was at every school event, every sporting event, on field trips, and always welcomed us home from school with a hug and a snack. I knew I wanted to be there for my kids like that too. Thanks to the support of my husband and my two successful businesses, I am able to work from home in the cracks of time around raising Bradyn. It’s a dream come true.
- I have always said that I had no pain tolerance. I’ve always been the biggest baby. BUT somehow this past September, thanks to a lot of breathing, working out through my whole pregnancy and prepping my mind, I was able to give birth to Bradyn without any medication. I’m still in shock that I did that and will never stop telling people that I’m a champ!
Hope you have enjoyed learning a little bit more about me!
xoxo
