You guys know how much I LOVE love! Well I wanted to share Marc and my love story.
It all started summer 2008, when Marc and his mom came to my dad’s farm to see the piglets. Marc’s mom grew up with my dad and his grandparents lived across the street. They happened to hear we had piglets and decided to come see them. I was outside stacking wood for my dad when they pulled up and thought “Wow he’s cute. I’m going to pretend to like pigs”. I hung out in the pig pen with them and we never said a word to each other.
February 2009, Marc added me as a friend on Facebook and we started talking. We soon started hanging out every time I came to town to visit my dad. I knew then that the feelings I had for Marc were different than anything I had felt before. But we were both young and it wasn’t the right time.
In 2010, I graduated high school and decided on going to the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. Marc begged me not to go but it was too late. We talked everyday and said many “I love you”s but we didn’t become official until December 2011.
We spent 2.5 years doing long distance while I finished up my degree in North Carolina. It was hard but so worth it. We spent every Sunday night doing movie dates via Skype and eventually ended up sleeping on skype every night. Sounds weird but those middle of the night “I love you” whispers were so worth it. And Marc used to sing me “Good Morning Beautiful” to wake me up, which then became our wedding song.
May 8, 2013- Marc told me we were going on an early morning date to see the sunrise. But when we got there he handed me a liability form for a hot air balloon ride. I was so excited since I am obsessed with hot air balloons. On the way up in the balloon, I was focusing on the trees and how close we were when the pilot said “Look down!”. When I looked down I saw a “Will you marry me?” banner and when I looked back at Marc he was on one knee with a ring. It was the best surprise!
We planned our wedding from 800 miles apart for June 29, 2014. I graduated in May 2014, moved back to NH, and within a month got married to my best friend.
We had the perfect wedding! Blue skies, warm weather, the most handsome groom waiting for me at the end of the aisle, surrounded by family and friends. We couldn’t have asked for a better day!
Now we will be celebrating 4 years married this year and have been together for 7 years! And the very best thing of all happening in 2018- our family will be growing! Baby boy Racine will be here in September and we couldn’t be happier.
I love all love stories, but ours will always be my favorite.
XOXO
